Functional medicine is a patient-centered approach that aims to identify and address the underlying causes of disease or dysfunction in the body. This integrative approach considers the dynamic interaction of an individual’s genome, lifestyle, and environment in healing the mind, body, and soul. By focusing on the whole person rather than isolated symptoms, functional medicine empowers individuals to achieve long-term wellness and vitality.
Unlike conventional medicine, which often treats symptoms with medications or surgeries, functional medicine seeks to understand and address the underlying factors contributing to health issues. It emphasizes a holistic approach, aiming to promote wellness rather than just managing disease symptoms.
Treatment plans are personalized and may include lifestyle modifications, dietary recommendations, supplements, and, if necessary, pharmaceutical interventions. The plan evolves based onindividual responses.
The timeline for seeing results with functional medicine varies depending on the complexity of your health issues, your adherence to the treatment plan, and other factors. While some patients experience improvements in symptoms relatively quickly, achieving long-term wellness often requires ongoing commitment and patience.
I utilize specialized testing methods to assess various factors, including comprehensive blood panels, gut microbiome analysis, and other functional tests to provide a detailed picture of your health.
